I am pleased to announce the endorsement of a number of Labor and Law Enforcement groups including the Carpenters union, Fire Fighters union, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 124 and Lodge #50 of the Fraternal Order of Police. The health of our community is dependent on a vibrant middle class, something that organized labor has worked to build and protect over the decades. It is an honor to receive their endorsements, and the endorsement of the men and women that help keep our community safe.
Bethany and I are proud to be co-chairs for the CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) Carnival this year. CASA is an organization that works within the Jackson County Family Court and receives financial support from Jackson County. CASA provides services in cases where there are allegations of abuse or neglect to children in this community. CASA volunteers give these children a voice in the court process and work to make sure they end up in stable, loving homes. The Carnival serves as a fundraiser and a tool to raise awareness about opportunities for volunteers to become a CASA. We hope you can join us in supporting the CASA Carnival.

The primary election isn’t until August, but even before Jackson County voters cast their ballots, this much is certain: The makeup of county legislature is going to see its biggest change in decades.
